  1. What I think this article is saying is that we should use logos in our writings that way our writing stands out. Without logos the writing or speech would be boring. Without logos you might not be able to bring out the point you are trying to state.

  3. Logos means logical reasoning which is used in writing. Logos can be broken up into two components: deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning. Deductive uses one or more premise then proves the conclusion, and inductive is basically the same only that the conclusion us not guaranteed to be the true.

  4. I found the idea of "Commonplaces" to be very helpful. The best way to persuade someone is to relate to them in the most personal way possible. By providing strong, logical arguments that increase one's ethos, a person can easily convey the intended message.

  7. Logos plays an important when you are trying to be persuasive in writing or public speaking. Deductive reasoning/argument is stating an argument in which all of your premises are true therefore your conclusion is true. An inductive argument is the same thing but the conclusion is not always true.

By reading this article I found that it is important to have appropriate Logos when wanting to get a point across to the audience. For example: when someone is giving a speech, Logos is critical for the speaker because logical arguments make it hard for the audience to loose interest. Also, the idea of using commonplaces to be able to persuade people was very helpful to me and I will start to apply it into any of my future speeches.

In speech, "Logos" is referred to as "logical reasoning". Logical reasoning can be utilized as either a "Deductive reasoning" or "Logical reasoning" fashion when debating in arguments. A key factor in deductive argument is that if one's premises are true, then one's conclusion must be true. Whereas in inductive reasoning, the conclusion is not guaranteed to be true - the user must only state it with some degree of confidence.

When making a speech Logos is logic. When speaking logic is the one thing that people turn to first rather then emotion. When appealing to someones through speech most people would want facts not emotions and this is something that is need to make a wise decision.

  11. I found the explanation of logos to be playing an important role in reasoning an argument successfully. There are many techniques that speakers may use to get their message across but as simple as it may seem, logic is difficult to express with ought boring the audience as mentioned in the article. Deductive reasoning and the use of commonplaces from the audience can create a powerful idea be shared by many.

  12. The Logos article is addressing how to use the logos method in our writing. We have to learn how to persuade the audience into doing what we want to do. We have to think outside the box and find many solutions to a situation we would like to fix.
